Dresser-Rand designs and manufactures equipment for oil and gas extraction. The company was founded in 1986 as a joint venture between Dresser Industries and Ingersoll Rand.
In September 1999, Dresser Industries merged with Halliburton Industries, transferring its 51% stake in Dresser-Rand Company to Halliburton. In February 2000, the 51% ownership of Dresser-Rand was sold to Ingersoll Rand.
In 2014, Siemens announced plans to acquire Dresser-Rand, and the transaction closed on June 30, 2015.
